Awkwafina

Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started with humorous rap tracks dealing with issues related to sexual and race. Her fame grew into Hollywood when she dropped an album of raps. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was from the trumpet. After classical and Jazz training, she delved into hip-hop as a teen. While in college, she took classes in writing and women's studies. In addition, she spent some time learning Mandarin in Beijing. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she shifted her focus on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also included other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The final track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide which was published in 2015. The singer decided to make a career as an actor after completing her first two projects, as an author and musician. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2. Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed major roles in a variety of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
